Roadway upgrades to AXS-One Enterprise Solutions Version 7.0

Johannesburg, 19 Sep 2002

AXS-One Inc, a leading provider of e-business solutions, today announced that Roadway Express, a subsidiary of Roadway Corporation, has upgraded its existing installation to Version 7.0 of the AXS-One`s financial management solution

AXS-One Enterprise Solutions Version 7.0 offers even more flexibility for customers to deploy the latest business and financial applications across a range of platforms, databases and technologies, featuring support for Windows 2000, SQL 2000, XML, and more.

Roadway Express is a leading transporter of industrial, commercial and goods in the two- to five-day regional and long haul markets. The company implemented an AXS-One solution four years ago in its Accounts Payable department to automate the process of handling more than a million invoices each year. As a result, the department has been able to work faster and more efficiently than before, while dramatically reducing operating costs. Recently, Roadway Express upgraded its internal operating platforms, and deployed AXS-One Enterprise Solutions Version 7.0 in order to extend the success of its financial management solution to the new systems environment.

"This was our first upgrade to a major release of AXS-One software, and we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly and easily it was completed - in less than three months," commented Robin Holcomb, Accounts Payable Manager at Roadway Express. "The new software version has allowed us to take advantage of additional functionality, and our users are delighted! Reporting and processing speed has significantly improved, enhancing the productivity and efficiency of our end-users."

"The appeal of AXS-One Enterprise Solutions is its ability to provide quick returns to our clients in the specific process areas that they have the most opportunity for improvement," states AXS-One`s Chief Executive Officer, John Rade. "Our solution architecture is designed to provide a flexible, modular, highly scalable solution that integrate easily with existing systems. The rate at which our clients are upgrading indicates their acceptance of our e-Cellerator technology and of our ability to improve their efficiencies."

In addition to Roadway Express, more than a dozen US-based clients have upgraded to AXS-One Enterprise Solutions 7.0 this year, including leading international organisations in the technology, business services and management consulting, insurance, transportation, pharmaceutical/health care, government, communications, financial services, retail, and publishing industries. Many clients have also added new AXS-One applications while upgrading their existing AXS-One applications in order to take advantage of new business process features.

AXS-One Enterprise Solutions Version 7.0 includes new functionality to further streamline billing, budgeting, , purchasing, and other critical business processes. A key capability for Roadway Express was the solution`s expanded portability to numerous platforms and databases. AXS-One also offers its highly skilled team of experienced technical and application support professionals, armed with advanced tools to manage the upgrade process. Customers have undergone live upgrades within two days, with full implementation averaging only two to three months.
