Rocket Matter's flagship software improved

Rocket Matter, an online legal practice management software and time solution for small to medium-sized firms, has unveiled multiple improvements in their flagship software for mobile lawyers, reveals San Francisco Chronicle.

Rocket Matter users now enjoy two-way synchronisation with Google calendar as well as a more optimised experience on Apple's iPad tablet.

Calendar synching supports recurring events, alarms and notifications, and coordination across all attendees of an event. Since Google Calendar integrates with a variety of software and devices, Rocket Matter two-way synching extends to those platforms as well.

Onyx opens recovery centre

Technology company Onyx is continuing to expand its infrastructure and geographic coverage after opening a workplace recovery centre at its Stockton headquarters, reports Nebusiness.

The facility has 100 seats where clients can relocate their staff and business if they cannot operate as normal from their usual base, using their information which Onyx stores offsite in its centres.

The office is the only base of its type on Teesside and will run along the same lines as 260-seat facility Onyx has in Newcastle. Onyx chief executive Neil Stephenson says: “We work with a range of companies across the UK, helping them to put in place robust continuity strategies that will ensure the business can and will operate as normal if disaster strikes.

Bunnings to deploy IBM tech

Bunnings Group has reached an agreement with IBM which will see the company deploy the IT company's Power 7 technology in order to support its ongoing expansion, says Comms Express.

Under the new deal, the technology will be introduced into the retail group's main data centre in Perth in order to boost operational efficiencies, cut back on energy consumption and boost overall productivity.

The move has been triggered by the fact that Bunnings has continued to expand the number of stores it operates, both across Australia and New Zealand, and as such needs to handle the rising demands being placed on its data centre operations.
