RTE acquires SDCR division

Technology Experts (RTE) has acquired the Retail Pro division of the San Diego-based SDCR Business Systems, a Retail Pro and Radiant Systems business , according to PRWeb.

SDCR has decided to focus on its core competency, which is the point-of-service (POS) business with Aloha POS and Radiant Systems.

SDCR Business Systems is a provider of POS solutions and services for independent and multi-unit operators in the food service, hospitality, and retail industries

iPass unveils franchise service

iPass, a global provider of services that unify the management of enterprise mobility, has unveiled iPass' Secure Franchise service, a companion offering to its Retail Office service, states Retail Solutions Online.

The solution allows franchise store owners and key personnel to securely access corporate applications - such as point-of-sale, customer loyalty and store surveillance systems - over any high-speed connection. Hallmark is the first nationwide customer to deploy iPass' Secure Franchise service, which is available immediately.

"iPass' Secure Franchise service helps retailers extend the benefits of their applications and systems to independent franchises without requiring them to replace their existing infrastructure," said Christopher Linden, senior director of product management, iPass.

Agilysys, Evolution Robotics partner

Cleveland-based Agilysys, a provider of IT solutions to corporate and public-sector customers, has signed a partnership agreement with Evolution Robotics Retail, a provider of object recognition systems for the retail market, reports TMCnet.

Under the terms of the partnership agreement, Agilysys will be an authorised reseller and implementation partner for Evolution Robotics Retail's loss-prevention product, LaneHawk, which facilitates retailers in combating bottom-of-basket losses into profit, in real-time.

LaneHawk is a visual scanner that offers a practical approach to loss prevention. The solution can detect and recognise items without having to read a product's universal product code.
