SA developed Pastel business software now for Mac at iStore

Pastel My Business Online, South Africa's only online accounting program, is now available for Apple Macs and can be found at iStores nationwide. This is the first step by both Pastel Accounting and iStores to actively change the public perception that business software is not compatible with Mac.

Pastel My Business Online is aimed at those business owners looking for a simple business management tool. Complicated accounting terminology has been replaced with straightforward language, and while it is easy to use, it offers the functionality of a fully-fledged accounting package including a customisable front-end, dashboards, graphs and drill-downs to source transactions.

With 21 years' experience and over 200 000 clients, Pastel is the market leader in developing accounting and business software. “Our clients expect us to deliver the best software available so that they remain as efficient as possible,” says Steven Cohen, managing director of Pastel Accounting. “We believe that developing a Mac-specific version of My Business Online is another show of our ongoing commitment to delivering cutting-edge business solutions.”

As the market for online applications and service-based software grows, iStores strives to remain at the forefront of innovation by offering its customers the best of both worlds. The exclusive Pastel My Business Online/iStores offer includes access for two users with the ability to manage the books of two companies. And for the budget-conscious business owner, a 12-month subscription comes at the discounted cost of R1 134 (incl VAT), which equates to just nine months' access.

Accounting online is fun, but also makes business sense. It means no installation hassles or costly upgrades and it also offers complete mobility; users can check the status of their business anytime, anywhere, which also eliminates the accountant's need to travel to the customer's premises and lug boxes of files to check accounts.

Pastel My Business is also available as an application for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, making it an indispensable business tool. It's available for free on the Apple App Store and once loaded, users can view customer contact information and tag premises with Google Maps, view customers' purchase and payment trends and write notes while on the road or in front of a client.

Cohen concludes: “With more business people turning to Mac as their business tool of choice, Pastel Accounting is thrilled to now offer Mac-compatible business software.”
