Sahara Computers has been selected as a strategic partner by Intel Corporation to support the launch of Core 2 Duo technology and supply related products.
As a premier player within the PC, digital, mobile and wireless lifestyle technologies arena, Sahara is adamant of the need to demonstrate to users what it describes as the "intrinsic beneficial qualities" of new technologies.
As a result, Sahara and Intel embarked on a multi-level awareness roadshow campaign last month with the new Intel Core 2 Duo technology targeting local consumers throughout the country.
"The roadshow allowed us to show the latest in technology off to consumers in shopping malls within our key consumer sales regions. It was a very successful tour in that we could physically present the technology to our end-users, evaluate their responses and gauge the value our range of product offerings has to the end-user," comments Gary Naidoo, deputy MD of Sahara.
"By providing the opportunity to experience the difference the new Core 2 Duo technology processing power has, also succeeded in generating a lot of positive commentary on Intel and Sahara as brands. Most of the current research is already indicating an expected increase trend in sales due to the raised awareness of Intel-Sahara portfolio of offerings and their new found popularity among end-users," comments Naidoo.
Sahara, in conjunction with its partner Intel Corporation, made sure demonstration areas were fully equipped with gaming stations, workstations, mobile and wireless product and other digital lifestyle equipment. As a result, both companies agree that the roadshow was successful in attracting people's attention and growing support for both brands and will most likely be continued into the new year.
The partnership has been formed to add impetus to Intel Corporation's drive into the South African and African markets. Its main objective is to create brand awareness through national initiatives that are focused on the latest in processing technology manufactured by the Intel Corporation and supplied in ITC solution packages by distributors such as Sahara Computers.
"The rate of today's development in applications goes hand-in-hand with the need for consistently increasing capacity and growing computer processing abilities. Technology users are looking for faster systems that guarantee higher levels of performance. Dual-core processing technology results in improved data management and business processing, as well as more streamlined usage of processing capacity, with the new improved understanding of core architecture that can be created at lower costs to the end-user," adds Naidoo.
Kamal Vasram, Channel Field Sales Engineer at Intel South and Sub-Saharan Africa, is positive about the influence of this technology and its impact locally.
"Intel is very excited about Core 2 Duo. We truly believe it is the world's best processor and opens up many exciting business opportunities for the industry. In particular, we see this as a key product for the local channel, which is agile, creative and well positioned to take advantage of this transition in driving solutions for end-users, whether in the business or consumer space. Intel is committed to its channel customers and continues to support local resellers in growing their business models. The response to Core 2 Duo in the local channel has been overwhelming positive and it is great to see customers, like Sahara Computers, embracing this technology and racing to market with great product offerings, services and campaigns."
