Sahara launches new Creative digital camera

Sahara has announced the availability of the Creative DC-CAM 3000Z digital camera.
Johannesburg, 14 Oct 2003

The DC-CAM 3000Z is Creative's new generation of charge-coupled device (CCD) digital camera that offers greater flexibility and control to consumers with its full digital camera features. These include auto/manual exposure control, video recording mode or playback mode, which are easily controlled by a top mode dial control.

Full digicam geatures

The DC-CAM 3000Z features a high precision 3.2 Megapixels effective CCD sensor that is capable of capturing day or night pictures of up to 2048x1536 resolutions which allows realistic printing on A4-size (210mm x 297mm) photo paper.

The DC-CAM 3000Z brings you closer through its 3x optical zoom Lens (equivalent to a 35mm to 105mm), with an additional 2x digital zoom capability. In addition, an automatic lens cover that prevents dust or sand from getting into the internal mechanism protects the lens.

For advanced photography, DC-CAM 3000Z lets the user have the control of the camera settings such as the white balance, exposure compensation, ISO and the shutter speed to achieve spectacular images.

In addition, there is a tripod socket on the bottom of the camera that allows support for a tripod. This is important when taking night shots that require extreme stability for longer shutter exposure.

The Intelligence IGBT Strobe Flash enables users to capture pictures using flash settings in auto, on, off, red-reduction mode with an effective range of 0.80m to 2m.

"With its full digital camera features and hassle-free functions, the DC-CAM 3000Z enables users to embark on a fruitful journey in digital photography by allowing them to capture pristine images effortlessly," says Atul Gupta, MD at Sahara. "In addition, the DC-CAM 3000Z's video recording features and bundled video editing software enables users to have twice the fun!"

Ergonomic design

While the DC-CAM 3000Z has a minimalist look and feel, it is ergonomically designed to allow a firmer grip when the user takes photograph. Output ports conveniently located at the side of the camera body allow users to connect to the computer using an USB cable or to the TV/LCD monitor using the video output cable.

Expandability

With a built-in 16MB internal memory, DC-CAM 3000Z can store up to 225 pictures at 640 x 480 image resolution in normal JPEG quality or 11 pictures at 2048 x 1536 image resolution in fine JPEG quality. There is also opportunity for expanding the storage capacity with the memory slot for SD cards that is located inside the battery compartment holding the AA-size batteries.

Useful software

The DC-CAM 3000Z comes with bundled software for image and video editing which provides even greater fun for users.

MGI PhotoSuite

The MGI PhotoSuite 4 is a software for Web and PC photography which enable users to do wonderful things with their photos, slides and digital images, whether it is an old shoe box full of tattered pictures, a stack of photo albums as high as the ceiling, or disk after disk of digital photos.

MGI VideoWave 4

The MGI VideoWave 4 is powerful yet elegant video-editing software that captures video easily and intuitively. It works with a variety of video formats and provides output options for VHS, DV, CD and streaming over the Web. The interface is smart and the workflow simple.
