Maxtor's OneTouch range of external storage hard drives with storage capacities ranging from 120GB to 300GB is now available through Sahara Computers.
The OneTouch series of external storage hard drives builds on the success of the Personal Storage 5000 series, incorporates the One Touch button, Dantz Retrospect Express software and introduces a sleek new industrial design.
"Maxtor OneTouch is the only push-button backup and restore hard drive-based solution in the market today. This feature makes it easy to store and backup compress personal, business and family files, pictures, music and digital video clips," says Atul Gupta, MD at Sahara Computers.
The stylish new drive features an anodised aluminium casing and illuminated OneTouch button. The drive can sit vertically or horizontally and has convenient plug-and-play capabilities.
Besides making instant backup copies of files and/or automated backup copies, the OneTouch button can now be customised to auto-launch applications.
Users can easily transform the Maxtor OneTouch drive into a digital photo album, music jukebox or digital video player.
In combination with the integrated Dantz Retrospect Express software, the Maxtor OneTouch drive supports a complete system restore capability (operating system, drivers, applications, settings and user files) for PCs and Macs back to the original computer system that the backup copy was made from.
In the event of a disaster, the OneTouch drive can run a system recovery to restore the computer's operating systems, programs and files. The Maxtor OneTouch drive also features an on/off switch and automatic power management or drive "spin down" option to conserve energy.
As part of this new hard drive family, Maxtor's Mac-formatted version offers an easy-to-install experience coupled with high speed and performance. Powered by an Oxford 911 chip, the drive comes pre-formatted HFS+ and is ready to use right out of the box.
"Performance, versatility, value and ease of use are of highest importance to the consumer," says Gupta. "By integrating a backup button, powerful software technology and a sleek design, this external backup solution delivers what the market demands. Users can maximise their experience and manage their digital life with simplicity, while knowing their data is backed up," he concludes.
