Key characteristics of the Sahara 12-inch Stylebook include a one-touch media play button, which provides for instant, no-hassle access to multimedia applications including graphics and sound manager applications, a magnetic clasp to secure the device as well as a sleek pearl and silver casing.
According to Gary Naidoo, deputy MD of Sahara, this latest addition to the company's extensive range of mobile and wireless product is a tailor-made solution, positioned to suit the lifestyle of an emerging affluent and younger generation of mobile technology enthusiasts and professionals.
"Mobile technology has to serve as a practical, convenient means of communication and connectivity. But, like most other solutions or technology, it can be 'personalised' so that the technology becomes almost an extension of the individual. Tech-savvy consumers are mindful of quality in presentation and the need for aesthetic and ergonomic value. This is where our new Sahara Style range comes in," says Naidoo.
"Designed as notebooks that incorporate the latest in performance-enhancing processor and chipset technology, with the most recent style and multimedia functionality, these products reflect our passion for reliable, affordable and accessible technology," he adds.
Weighing in at only 1.78kg, this new Sahara 12-inch Stylebook is powered by the Intel Centrino Mobile Technology featuring Pentium M Processor, 2MB L2 Cache, as well as Intel 915 GM Express Chipset.
Specially designed for multimedia functionality features an 80GB 7200 RPM hard drive; 512MB PC DDR 533 memory; an internal DVD-RW Dual Drive that offers DVD/CD write and re-write capability, as well as a four-in-one media card reader that supports multiple formats including MS/MS Pro/SD and MMC.
To ensure maximum resolution and clarity in graphics on its 12-inch TFT LCD screen with XGA resolution, the device incorporates Intel enhancement AGP BUS equivalent hardware 2D/3D video graphic accelerators. This features alongside a high performance 128-bit 3D engine and the Intel Dynamic Video Memory Technology 3.0.
According to Naidoo, the Sahara 12-inch Stylebook has already received a favourable response from the ICT market and is expected to dominate the local notebook space this festive season.
