SailPoint celebrates 10 years, record profitability, growth beyond $100m annual revenue

Johannesburg, 23 Feb 2016

SailPoint, the leader in identity and access management (IAM), today announced it has achieved more than $100 million in revenue in 2015, maintaining the company's track record of profitability with an average of 40% bookings growth over the last four years.

These results were driven by SailPoint's flagship IAM solution, IdentityIQ, which was purchased by more than 125 of the world's largest organisations in 2015 alone. SailPoint's cloud-based IAM solution, IdentityNow, also gained significant market share, increasing its growth rate by three times over 2014. Customer success continues to be a hallmark of SailPoint's value proposition, as demonstrated by its outstanding track record on client satisfaction and retention above 95%.

Today, hundreds of the world's largest organisations are SailPoint customers, supported by nearly 550 employees in 20 countries. SailPoint also boasts the industry's most robust partner ecosystem, with more than 150 partners and 3 000 trained SailPoint experts.

The company, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in December 2015, was named to Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 for the third consecutive year, and honoured as Frost & Sullivan's "Global Identity and Access Management Entrepreneurial Company of the Year". Also in 2015, co-founders Mark McClain and Kevin Cunningham were named Ernst & Young "Entrepreneurs of the Year" for the Central Texas region.

"As SailPoint celebrated its 10th anniversary and crossed the $100 million annual revenue mark, we reflected back to the company's original goals in 2005," said McClain, SailPoint's CEO. "SailPoint pioneered the identity governance market and built a global business that allows us to invest in our people and technology, all while staying laser focused on the success of our customers. We achieved these goals by utilising minimal investment during our early years, and stayed committed to our vision of a profitable, self-sustaining company. The entire team is proud of this accomplishment, and working hard to establish SailPoint as 'the enterprise identity company'."

Across its 10-year history, SailPoint has a proven track record of driving innovation in the market, pioneering identity governance, revolutionising, provisioning and ultimately delivering the industry's first enterprise-grade IAM solution delivered from the cloud. As a proof point of SailPoint's success, the company has consistently been named a Leader in Gartner's "Magic Quadrant for Identity Governance and Administration (IGA)", among other industry accolades. In 2015, SailPoint continued driving innovation in the market by delivering:

* IdentityIQ 7.0, the industry's first open IAM platform that delivers unmatched integration with the broader operational and IT security infrastructure;
* A business-ready, mobile-first user experience within all products that delivers a consistent and unified user experience across all desktops, tablets and smartphones;
* "Identity Cubes" technology into IdentityNow to provide a holistic view of all user access across cloud and on-premises applications;
* SecurityIQ, which extended SailPoint's governance-based approach to unstructured data, allowing SailPoint's IAM solutions to manage all users, all apps and all data; and
* The Identity+ Alliance to accelerate and enhance integration with operational and security infrastructures.

"Data breaches are keeping executives up at night and have become a board-level issue, which is accelerating the market adoption of identity governance solutions," said Cunningham, SailPoint's president and co-founder. "Global organisations understand the need to manage and secure their identity data, but they're struggling to gain and maintain control over an increasingly hybrid IT environment. This is further complicated by the trend of business managers procuring and deploying applications outside of IT's purview. Only SailPoint has the breadth and depth of expertise required to deliver solutions and enable organisations to effectively regain control of their users, applications and data."

It has been an exciting year for SailPoint South Africa, where the momentum in the local market reflects the strong growth SailPoint is seeing globally.\

Peter Hunter - Director of SailPoint South Africa:
"SailPoint has had a presence here for three years and is now recognised as a leading provider of identity and access governance solutions for South African customers," says Peter Hunter, Director of SailPoint South Africa. "We have had significant success in 2015, adding customers across telecommunications, retail, banking and financial services markets. In addition, we have strengthened our partner ecosystem with the addition of several new partnerships - partners now include some of the strongest and most experienced IAM solution providers in the market."

Hunter says: "SailPoint is seeing substantial interest from organisations both within South Africa as well as across Africa to help them solve their identity and access-related concerns. We are seeing increased interest from organisations of all sizes across all industries wanting to automate and improve their user access provisioning processes, while at the same time strengthen their governance and controls over user access to their systems.

"This interest is being driven by increased cyber security concerns relating to risk of a breach from inappropriate insider or external user access, as well as a combination of continued failed audit findings and governance and compliance concerns, which are increasingly becoming a priority at board levels.

"SailPoint is uniquely positioned in terms of our ability to help customers to mitigate risk, reduce IT costs, and ensure compliance," adds Hunter. "Our solutions help customers to gain the required visibility into and control over user access to sensitive data and applications - whether these applications are on-premises, or in the cloud; and whether this data resides in structured, semi-structured or unstructured data sources; and we now have the proven track record and partner ecosystem to bring these solutions to the local market."

SailPoint will participate in the ITWeb Security Summit events in May 2016.
