Samsung splashes out SME printers
Tech giant Samsung has added six new printers to their monochrome laser line-up designed with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in mind, says Printer Comparison.
The additions featured three multi-function monochrome lasers as well as three single-function monochrome lasers.
The new multi-function monochrome lasers aim to offer additional security and reliability with secure pull printing, embedded barcode font feature, a reversal automatic document feeder and paper support up to 50 pounds.
SMEs urged to adopt tech
Malaysian prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has urged SMEs to adopt technology as a core part of their business strategy to gain a sustainable competitive edge, writes The Star.
He says the SME community in Malaysia was not adopting technology as rapidly as it should.
“We run the risk of being left behind if we do not reverse this situation. The world is moving ahead at breakneck speed and we have to hit the ground running,” Najib says.
SMEs create 16 000 new jobs
SMEs in Singapore that are involved in upgrading projects last year will create about 16 000 new jobs when the projects are fully completed in the next one or two years, states Asia One Business.
About 3 500 SMEs took part in this upgrading process supported by enterprise development agency, Spring Singapore.
Projects that have been put in place include productivity improvements, product, process and technology innovations, service quality, branding and intellectual property management.
