Samsung Electronics SA unveiled its 75-inch ES9000 LED Smart TV this week, which it claims delivers a unique design concept, with a rose-gold coloured finish, for televisions 60 inches and larger.
Samsung says the device not only promises to deliver premium viewing, but will also appeal to business and tech-savvy individuals with its high-end features.
According to Samsung, the ES9000 is available globally at selected retailers for the recommended retail price of R109 000.
Speaking at the event, Matthew Thackrah, deputy MD and head of consumer electronics and IT solutions at Samsung SA, outlined that, since the development of the Smart TV, the market has responded enthusiastically.
“Globally, we've had a shipment of 6.1 million TV sets, we've seen a 28% growth in the global TV market share, and we have 41% share of the SA market - and all of this is based on product innovation. We're excited to develop the marketplace with the 75-inch set,“ he added.

“When consumers enter the premium TV market, they should not have to make any compromises when it comes to quality, functionality, features and sophisticated design,” said Justin Shaw, business leader for visual display at Samsung SA.
Features
The ES9000 includes the complete suite of Samsung's Smart TV features, such as Smart Interaction, Smart Content and Smart Evolution, which were introduced with Samsung's flagship Smart TVs earlier this year.
These features enable users to control and interact with their TVs in a more intuitive way, choose from a broader range of premium and signature content that can be shared across multiple devices, and access the latest hardware and software features to constantly receive updates on their Smart TVs.
The ES9000's picture quality uses Samsung's micro dimming ultimate and precision black technology to deliver optimised colour and detail; higher contrast ratios; a 30% improvement in sharpness and black levels; and a 60% improvement in brightness levels over the ES8000 series, supporting the larger screen size and longer viewing distances.
It also features Sound Share, the newest Smart TV feature, which automatically and wirelessly connects TV audio to Samsung's Series 6 and Series 7 wireless audio with dock systems.
