Samsung Electronics outlined its course for continued growth in the Philippines last week at the annual Samsung AV Roadshow at the SMX Convention Centre, reports Inquirer.net.
Samsung unveiled its line-up of full HD 3D solutions, which will be available to the Philippine market later this month. The company also showcased new offerings in the areas of digital imaging and audio-visual technology.
Company executives discussed strategic initiatives and Samsung will deliver the new products, including a range of full HD 3D TVs, 3D Blu-ray, 3D home theatre systems, 3D glasses and even 3D content, in the next few weeks.
Electrosonic acquires DVR
Electrosonic has acquired The Multimedia Group, owner of the companies DRV Integration - a designer and integrator of corporate, medical and educational audio-visual technology - and DVR Support, a multimedia managed service and maintenance solutions provider, says Traders Huddle.
“DRV is a perfect fit with Electrosonic. This acquisition aligns well with our strategic goals and brings a wealth of talent and experience into the group,” says Electrosonic president, Jim Bowie.
The acquisition expands Electrosonic's audio-visual solutions market, giving it access to DRV's existing customer base.
Survey reveals AV company losses
A third of AV companies in the UK have lost a third of their value in the past year, according to AV Interactive.
A Plimsoll research report shows that from 499 companies analysed, 325 companies are worth less than they were last year.
"It's not surprising that the value of companies has taken a pounding recently, but the extent of the squeeze is striking. Only 170 companies managed to increase their value - a record low," says David Pattison, senior analyst at Plimsoll.
