SAOL.Com and iOnet Astronet merge

SAOL.Com and iOnet Astronet are pleased to announce that they have merged two of the largest and most established Internet Service Providers in Durban. The move is the culmination of two years of close association between the two companies and is designed to create improved buying power and greater economies of scale.

The merged company will trade as SAOL.Com and the holding company is Nyala Communications (Pty) Ltd. The merged company is now the largest independent ISP in KwaZulu Natal and is placed to maximise growth in the fast moving ISP and Communications market. The company will be able to offer its clients a higher quality of service as well as lower prices.

The SAOL.Com management team are thrilled at the prospects the merger has created, and will be using its combined resources to offer a multi-channel platform for local and national users including Dial up, ISDN, ADSL and VOIP. SAOL.Com in Partnership with Telkom are the first Durban based ISP to offer their own ADSL authentication, allowing their users to also access Telkom ADSL, Telkom Wireless T-Zones, Wireless G Hotspots and a large footprint of international hotspots located on other continents all with one username and password.

The merged company also includes Nyala Communication's innovative software development division - Netsoft. This division is the developer of the globally acclaimed AstroFlow and AstroFlowGuard suite of state of the art IP management software. Netsoft sells to international companies such as ISPs, Telcos, broadband service providers and wireless operators, aswell as many large national and international companies.

All administration and billing is channelled into an international centralised back office based in Durban.
