SAP deploys Google Maps for

software, reports Silicon.

The idea behind the tie-in is to allow large volumes of to be presented visually, helping users make quicker decisions based on real-time information.

If businesses know the geographical context of their information, SAP believes they can better understand local, regional and global business trends and how different approaches work in different places.

According to the Financial Post, the new services, which will include both do-it-yourself applications and pre-built apps, will be available through SAP's existing analytics tools.

Telecom Paper says with location-based intelligence capabilities, SAP envisions bringing corporate information to life via Google's dynamic, interactive map, satellite and even street-level views.

As a result, customers could analyse their businesses in a geo-spatial context to effectively understand the 'where' of their information, as well as global, regional and local trends and how they are impacted by different scenarios.
