SAP AG has announced the widespread adoption of the mySAP E-Procurement solution by more than 1 000 companies worldwide.
This success has been made possible by SAP Markets Enterprise Buyer (Professional Edition), which is a key component of mySAP E-Procurement. The solution supports processes for planned and unplanned procurement of direct and indirect materials, goods and services. Industry-leading companies such as Bertelsmann, Mercedes-Benz Espa~na, Pirelli SpA and The Procter & Gamble Co. have implemented mySAP E-Procurement as an integral part of their e-business strategies.
The primary challenge companies face when attempting to create a complete e-procurement solution is the need to integrate multiple and decentralised procurement and back-office systems into one centralised procurement process. Featuring SAP Markets Enterprise Buyer (Professional Edition) as the key component, mySAP E-Procurement offers customers a single solution that fully integrates and automates a company's e-procurement processes worldwide to reduce overall cycle times and transaction costs.
"To be competitive, businesses need to collaborate throughout the value chain and route material requirements from multiple planning systems directly with their trading partners or through selected public or private exchanges," said Mayur Shah, president at SAP Markets. "mySAP E-Procurement offers customers robust functionality for integrated purchasing processes, spend analysis, catalogue content management and mobile access. It is now the market-leading solution." "By building Enterprise Buyer into mySAP E-Procurement, SAP offers a compelling solution for all aspects of both indirect and direct goods and services procurement," said Albert Pang, e-commerce applications research manager for IDC. "The combination represents an e-procurement solution with the power and sophistication to match supply chain requirements with collaborative design and vendor qualification on a global scale."
Customers succeed with complete solution
Companies worldwide are turning to mySAP E-Procurement to reduce costs, increase purchasing efficiencies, monitor buying behaviours and better collaborate with their business partners. With a global view of procurement activities, companies can monitor vendor and cost-centre trends, yielding more effective contract terms and rapid adjustments to buying patterns.
"Procter & Gamble needed a procurement system that could automate our worldwide procurement activities and allow us to manage our vendor agreements globally," said Brad Comerford, global business-to-business procurement program manager at Procter & Gamble. "Companies like ours can save 10% to 15% in procurement expenses when they consolidate their global purchasing power, and we have reason to expect this level of success."
