SAP reveals new initiatives
SAP AG has released a series of sustainability initiatives, including a new environmental, health, and safety software product that the company says will complement its existing governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) products, states MA News.
SAP says its new internal initiatives are intended to make the software company itself a leader in sustainable behaviour and reporting.
SAP named former executive vice-president for solutions marketing Peter Graf as its new chief sustainability officer, reporting to SAP executive board member Jim Hagemann Snabe.
UBS selects MetricStream
UBS, a global financial services firm, has selected the MetricStream GRC platform to support its internal audit management processes, says msnbc.
The MetricStream solution will provide UBS with a fully-integrated and state-of-the-art system for managing the risk-based internal audit processes for its global operations spread over multiple countries.
The solution is expected to result in significant performance gains for the internal audit group through ease of use, efficient data capture, improved information flows and full integration across all processes.
Merger fallout minimal
SAP's billion-dollar acquisition of BusinessObjects has resulted in local redundancies only "in the single digits", according to the new local head of SAP's business intelligence (BI) division, reports Australian IT.
“The redundancies occurred mainly in human resources, the legal department and support functions where there was direct overlap as a result of the acquisition,” says SAP BusinessObjects general manager Rajeev Mitroo.
SAP BusinessObjects, the new division, grew revenues by 24% last year and its main products are BI, enterprise performance management and GRC.
