Intel Solutions Conference at IDF, Barcelona, April 20, 2004. SAP Systems Integration AG (SAP SI) and Intel today announced the development of an Enterprise Mobility Assessment Program based on SAP Solutions for Mobile Business.
Unveiled at the Intel Developer Forum Solutions Conference in Barcelona, Spain, the Enterprise Mobility Assessment helps enterprises identify and validate within 30 days the mobile solutions best suited to their unique business needs. The program focuses on the business areas that promise the highest cost savings and efficiency gains, ranging from service, sales and distribution to warehouse management. Jointly developed by SAP SI and Intel(R) Solution Services, the enterprise Mobility Assessment Program was developed to help the SAP installed base as well as non-SAP customers identify the advantages of implementing a Mobile Business solution.
The Program itself is split into three phases.
In the first phase, the 'business assessment` gauges the company`s opportunities for deploying enterprise mobile solutions in sales and distribution, warehouse management, production, purchasing, financials and human resources solution areas. The aim is to identify areas of the business that are best suited to simplify processes and achieve optimum gains in productivity as well as a low-cost entry point for their mobile strategy and applications.
In the second phase, the technical assessment provides a customer with specific technical analysis, based on their existing IT landscape. This is then followed up with a roadmap for implementing the proposed mobile business solutions.
The final phase offers a prototype and solution architecture validation. SAP SI and Intel Solution Services consultants work with the customer to create a live prototype of the enterprise mobile solution, provide a feasibility study for any necessary modifications and enhancements, a detailed project plan for rolling out the mobile solution, and a cost estimate for the entire implementation project. Each part of the program can be ordered and executed separately or as a complete series.
