SAP to boost ecosystem

SAP says the release of SAP NetWeaver 7.3 will assist the development at SAP and across its ecosystem of and customers in areas such as in-memory computing, cloud computing and , writes InfoTech.

By unifying content and making it consumable everywhere, it adds, the SAP NetWeaver technology platform provides the foundation for SAP business applications and enables companies to deliver business context to the end user.

Being the core component of the SAP technology platform, SAP NetWeaver now supports non-disruptive upgrades to SAP Business Suite software landscapes with pre-validated content for SAP Business Suite 7.

Hilton settles for MS tools

Hilton Worldwide has selected Microsoft's collaboration and productivity tools as part of its Innovation Collaborative initiative, reports TMCNet.

The tools to be used by Hilton under this agreement include Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Microsoft Office Communications Server, Microsoft Office 2010 and Windows 7.

Microsoft tools provide extended collaboration and communication functionality along with other features such as connecting sites, people, and business processes, improved functionality, and seamless integration with Microsoft Office 2010.

Xing avails iPhone, BlackBerry apps

Online business network Xing has unveiled iPhone and BlackBerry applications, according to TelecomPaper.

The iPhone application features Mobile Handshake, where business professionals can meet up and add one another as a Xing contact. Users need to start the application, which will then use GPS to search for other Xing members nearby, who also have the Mobile Handshake feature enabled, and then select the person they want to add from the list of results.

The iPhone application also provides Xing users with a list of their contacts' upcoming birthdays.
