SAP unveils app

SAP has introduced the Promotion Management for Retail 7.0 application, an advanced software solution that is planned to provide the tools to help create successful sales promotions for retailers large and small, states PR Newswire.

This while enabling advertising staff to spend less time on manual tasks such as maintaining spreadsheets, re-keying information and editing hard copies of proofs multiple times.

Successful store promotions are key to a retailer's profitability; businesses are challenged to ensure that event executions are flawless, print media is accurate and merchandise is placed and priced correctly.

3xLogic intros integrated retail solution

3xLogic has released its integration with the IBM 4690 retail point-of-sale and its Vigil line of video surveillance solutions, reports Newswire Today.

The integration synchronises video from the cameras with point-of-sale transactions from the IBM 4690 in real-time and includes the Supermarket, ACE, GSA and Chain Drug applications from IBM.

With the integration, users of the Vigil system are now able to receive a wide variety of real-time and after the fact and reports which include both video and details of the transactions of interest.

IFC improves Vietnam retail system

The International Financial Company (IFC) will provide about $1.2 million in new equity to Vina Payment Network Joint Stock Company (PayNet) to help expand speedy and reliable electronic payment services to millions of households and individuals throughout the country, says VOVNews.

An agreement to this effect was signed between IFC and PayNet representatives in Hanoi on 8 June.

Under the agreement, the IFC investment will be used primarily to strengthen PayNet's back-office infrastructure by improving back-up and redundancy systems as well as expand the retail payment networks.
