Satlog Group outsources to Group 108

Johannesburg, 03 Oct 2006

Satlog Group SA, South Africa`s fastest growing transport and hospitality group, has outsourced its IT requirements to 108 Technologies, a Group 108 company.

The contract, valid for an initial three years, includes:

* Hardware supply, installation and support nationally
* WAN, connectivity for 20 sites in South Africa
* Telephony and business voice solutions for the group
* IP video surveillance and remote monitoring of branches
* Messaging and Internet services

As part of the deal, 108 Technologies will build a data centre and NOC at the Satlog head office in Commerce Square, Sandton. The NOC will provide a 24 x 7 monitoring service on the WAN, surveillance and vehicle tracking applications.

Herman Steyn, a divisional manager within the Satlog Group, indicated that 108 Technologies was successful because of its ability to provide flexible, robust and industry-leading solutions to meet Satlog`s growing dependency on information technology. "With a national footprint and qualified experts, we are comfortable that we have chosen the right partner to address our requirements," he said.

Dennis Naidoo, CEO of 108 Technologies, the technology division of Group 108, says the deal represents a coup as there were many companies bidding for the business.

"We ultimately secured the business by demonstrating our ability to take world-class products and solutions and translate them into business benefits for Satlog. We have already installed a new `Intertel` telephony solution for the head office site in Sandton. The solution is a scalable IP telephony platform that will cater for future growth and inter-branch VOIP functionality.

In South Africa`s fast evolving technology landscape, Group 108 offers turnkey solutions for any business requirement. With a national footprint and qualified personnel, Group 108 can support multiple sites and enable business continuity.
