Thursday 10 May marks the fourth technology show-off session, hosted by Space Age Technologies (SAT) in collaboration with Microsoft South Africa.
Aimed at the general computer user, these technology sessions show off the nifty tools and capabilities of Microsoft's new product platform.
Presented by Microsoft's partner technology specialist, John Mills, SATshows offer information workers an insight into the powerful features and streamlined user interface of Microsoft's latest product flagship.
While previous events focused on Windows Vista and SharePoint Services, the May edition of SATshows will concentrate on Office 2007, specifically turning the attention to Excel, Word and Outlook.
SAT, a Microsoft gold partner and IT platform integration specialist, is involved in numerous Microsoft TAP (Technology Adoption Program) and Beta Testing Programs.
"As part of the TAP initiative, we were asked to test Windows Vista in a live production environment as early as eight months before its official release," says Mathias T"olken, Services Director for SAT.
SAT was also privy to the Beta versions of Office 2007 nearly six months before the application was open to the public.
"These experimental installations into client environments allowed our consultants and technicians to become equipped and familiar with the new security and collaboration features in preparation for its official release," says T"olken.
SAT also realised the enormous need in its client base for more information about the look and feel, as well as the features of these and other Microsoft Products.
"Technology today is so immensely powerful and is able to streamline and simplify the way we do business, but unfortunately few people have enough time to attend long training sessions. SATshows are short but filled to the brim with information and ideas on how to use software differently and more productively, and how to save a considerable amount of time," says T"olken.
According to SAT, the first three shows received excellent feedback and this vindicated monthly events throughout the year.
Delegates enjoy insightful presentations filled with tips on how the technology can benefit their business, while allowing for extended Q&A and live task demonstrations.
"Anyone is welcome to attend, whether they are highly technical or a novice information worker, and best of all, it is completely free of charge," concluded T"olken.
