Businesses around the world are embracing iScala 2.2, the latest release of Scala Business Solutions' collaborative ERP platform. The company reports that more than 500 customers have selected or upgraded to the system since its commercial release last September.
The surge in demand has been felt locally, too, says Shamik Sinha, CEO of Scala Africa, who reveals that several customers have taken advantage of the new functionality offered by the iScala ERP solution.
"With the addition of advanced business intelligence and CRM functionality into a single solution - that can scale from just two users to well over 500 seats - iScala has become a compelling and affordable system for the effective running of many businesses, especially for the unique conditions of Africa," says Sinha.
With traditional strengths in the pharmaceutical and hospitality industries, the release of iScala 2.2 has seen the vendor reach new customers including engineering, machinery and more.
Brian Hoey, South African managing director of Cognis, a worldwide supplier of specialty chemicals and nutritional ingredients, notes that business automation should never add complexity. As a result, the company selected the iScala 2.2 collaborative system as a replacement for its existing ERP product - knowing that it would deliver the full functionality it requires without a lengthy deployment cycle or onerous retraining of staff.
"The iScala solution suited our needs ideally, with a highly structured implementation methodology that provides project planning and feedback to map our business needs to the information systems," says Hoey. Designed to provide complete business management capabilities for companies anywhere in the world, iScala delivers an integrated ERP, CRM, and SCM solution on a Web services platform tailored for local language, tax and legislative requirements. iScala offers an overall view of the business as it happens, a foundation for automated collaboration with customers and suppliers, and no-compromise functionality to streamline business processes and drive profits up.
"During the fourth quarter 2003, we saw a high number of customers upgrading to iScala," continues Sinha. "That number continues to increase because our customers are confident in iScala's Microsoft-based technology platform and its ability to deliver benefits that can help improve bottom line profits."
