
Scam rigs CM system
New internal control measures and a background-check policy have started in Prince William County's IT department to prevent corruption following an embezzlement scandal, says The Washington Post.
Earlier this year, four men, including Maneesh Gupta, the IT department's former assistant CIO, were indicted on 153 charges that included racketeering, bid-rigging, forgery, obtaining money by false pretenses and money laundering over five years.
Officials claim the men rigged the county's contracting system to send $9 million to companies they created.
DocuVantage wins govt SaaS deal
Document Advantage (DocuVantage), has been awarded a contract with the General Services Administration (GSA), states PR-USA.net.
This acquisition provides DocuVantage's software-as-a-service (SaaS) document and business process management platform to federal, state and local government customers.
DocuVantage OnDemand gives government agencies a way to streamline and reduce unnecessary costs. DocuVantage says it can assist federal agencies to manage their documents, contracts and records online.
Swisslog gets Ariba spend management
Ariba has developed a spend management system for Swisslog Healthcare Solutions, says Earth Times.
David Marantes, chief procurement officer at Swisslog, says: “By implementing Ariba's solutions, we can more efficiently manage our spend, deliver savings that positively impact our bottom line and enhance our position in the competitive global market.”
Swisslog Healthcare Solutions will use the Ariba contract management solution as well as solutions in spend visibility, supplier information management.
