DST International Billing (DSTi Billing), the leading provider of innovative customer management and open billing solutions to the utility industry, announced today that Scottish Water has completed its migration to the HiAffinity Customer Care and Billing System.
The first two parts of Scottish Water were migrated from Custima to HiAffinity late in 2003 and earlier this year, and the third area, based in Glasgow, previously serviced by another software vendor, has now completed the move to HiAffinity. This means that approximately 180 000 commercial and industrial metered customer accounts worth approximately lb375 million ($650 million) of revenue a year to Scottish Water are now on one database, with uniform business processes and tariffs for the whole country.
Scottish Water is making early use of the Business Rules Engine in HiAffinity which allows it to easily configure its own unique business processes to the HiAffinity system, define its own screen formats, defaults and validations. It is also using HiAffinity for its Trade Effluent billing and for much of its sundry billing needs.
Simon Patterson, COO of DSTi Billing, said: "We had North and East of Scotland as users of our products for many years with a long-term friendly and beneficial relationship...with the consolidation of the three companies and the formation of Scottish Water, we were delighted to be able to provide Scottish Water with our state of the art HiAffinity product. We are extremely pleased that three databases have been successfully consolidated into one HiAffinity database, which is now being used to bill the whole of Scotland. In addition, it brings up a landmark figure for DST, as our products now bill over 9 million customers on four continents."
Mark Dickson, General Manager, Customer Service for Scottish Water, said: "Implementation of a new state of the art billing system concludes a significant transformation project for Scottish Water. Customer benefits are already evident and further improvements to billing services for customers are now possible. Scottish Water are delighted that the partnership adopted with DST has allowed these improvements to be made at significant pace."
