Leading distributor SDD has announced that it is distributing Veritas Software's data high availability solutions for the Microsoft platform.
According to Werner Obermeyer, software product manager at SDD, the distribution agreement has been in effect for some time and SDD is pleased to enhance its offering with Veritas' recognised data availability solutions.
"The availability of information is critical to businesses working in the information age. Microsoft is the most pervasive platform, thus Veritas' offerings enable businesses to effectively protect their valuable information assets," he says. Obermeyer says Veritas' Backup Exec product suite for Microsoft platforms will be distributed by Veritas.
"SDD offers pre- and post-sales support for the Backup Exec suite, providing turnkey solutions for backup environments in NT as well as Netware platforms," explains Obermeyer. He says that while SDD has been offering Veritas software for some time, demand for these products has escalated. "As the need for effective storage solutions becomes an essential requirement for the small to medium enterprise (SME), the demand for this turn-key solution has created a valuable revenue source for our reseller partners," he says.
Obermeyer says SDD is focused on the SMME market. "With our association with HP, Compaq and IBM on the server product range, and the addition of software such as that from Veritas, SDD believes it is in a position to offer the ultimate solutions to this market sector," he says.
"SDD is in a strong position to provide the hardware, software and technical support for storage solutions for the fastest growing sector of the market," he concludes.
