Adhering to today`s dynamic data and storage demands, Seagate, together with official distributor Rectron, has announced the launch of no less than 10 new drives, available to South African users.
The new products cater for various segments of the marketplace such as PC users, enterprise as well as more consumer-driven technologies.
The 10 drives include:
* A compact 1.8-inch perpendicular recording drive with a 60GB capacity designed for handheld devices.
* A 2.5-inch notebook hybrid hard drive (Momentus 5400 PSD) that combines rotating disc storage with flash memory.
* The new Barracuda 7200.10 with 750GB capacity for high-end PCs and low cost servers. "Ten products are noteworthy by any standard; Seagate has undoubtedly set the bar higher, offering true drive technology innovation that will adhere to the needs of numerous user marketplaces," says Cheslynne Britz, Seagate product manager at Rectron. Looking at other highlights, the 8GB Pocket Drive provides users with a lot of storage capacity, in a pocket-size package. It connects to any USB port. The next-generation LD25 Series is built for gaming consoles, home entertainment devices, small footprint media PCs, low-profile set-top boxes and other emerging home applications.
