Industry`s first automated client data backup solution for Windows NT offered free with Seagate BackupExec or Seagate WinINSTALLSeagate Software, the pioneer of Enterprise Information Management (EIM) and the leading provider of network storage management solutions for Windows NT has announced two new bundles to equip IT professionals with data protection for client workstations and mobile computers.
Nick van Noordwyk, regional manager for MEA at Seagate Software, Network and Storage Management Group, says Seagate Client Exec will be bundled for a limited time, free-of-charge with every purchase of Seagate Backup Exec for Windows NT or Seagate WinINSTALL. "These bundles have been strategically positioned to familiarise IT professionals with benefits such as the reduction of administrative costs associated with managing and protecting user data and the increase of information availability to the end-user."
Van Noordwyk also says the promotion is designed to address today`s data protection requirements. "By delivering two separate packages, we can provide comprehensive client/server protection to users of our backup and software distribution products. This demonstrates our objective to deliver EIM solutions that effectively address diverse business requirements."
Seagate Client Exec is an automated client data protection solution designed to back up valuable client workstation data transparently and automatically onto a Windows NT 4.0 server. As a complementary tool for Seagate Backup Exec, this product secures data created on Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT Workstation desktop and mobile client machines. The Seagate WinINSTALL bundle enables software distribution customers to also protect the critical client data produced by the applications Seagate WinINSTALL installs on client machines.
Version 7.0 of Seagate Backup Exec for Windows NT is currently available for a Single Server Edition and for the Enterprise Edition. Version 6.0 of Seagate WinINSTALL is also available. Version 1.0 of Seagate Client Exec is available free-of-charge with either product until the latter part of 1998. The Seagate Client Exec bundle promotion is available through Seagate Software`s global network of TeamExec resellers and distributors.
