SecureData snaps up VAD Africa

Johannesburg, 12 Dec 2006

SecureData, a member of the JSE-listed ERP.com Group, and a leader in the information security and storage arena, today announced that it has acquired VAD Africa, a leading Sub-Saharan distributor of specialist network and information security products.

"Part of our ongoing strategy is to look for initiatives that will enhance our product offerings and services in our key focus areas, ie addressing the issues of information risk management," commented Dean Brazier, CEO of ERP.com.

"In addition, it is always our intention is to provide a more comprehensive complete set of solutions to end-users within the African continent and the Indian Ocean Islands marketplace. The acquisition of VAD Africa, and in particular, some of the distributorships associated with that company, provided us with such an opportunity and one that was totally in line with this strategy. In addition, it provided us with new and extra options for our channel partners."

For us, one of the most important distributorships of those that were previously held by VAD Africa was that from Check Point Software Technologies," continued Brazier, "and they have already given their full support for the acquisition."

"I am also delighted to announce that Doros Hadjizenonos, the MD of VAD Africa, has joined the SecureData team," concluded Brazier.
