Sheikh wins IT award

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, deputy ruler of Dubai and United Arab Emirates minister for finance and industry, has been awarded the Arab Technology Lifetime Achievement Award.

The award was presented this week as the Gitex exhibition celebrated 25 years in the Middle East`s IT market.

The award recognised Sheikh Hamdan`s achievements as chairman of the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The Arabian Technology Awards, now in their 15th year, were sponsored by Etisalat, and organised by regional publisher ITP`s IT Weekly magazine. The awards recognised more than 25 technology pioneers and innovators throughout the Arab world.
