According to Fanie van Rensburg, MD of Shoden Data Systems, the Thunder 9200 SAN Enabler (SE) is ideal for addressing business issues typically faced by companies with rapidly growing IT infrastructures.
"The solution is a 'ready-to-go' SAN, and integrates the Hitachi Freedom Storage Thunder 9200 storage platform with two 16-Port switches in a single, rack-mounted configuration," he explains. The 16-Port switches provide a networking foundation for the SAN, while the Thunder 9200 delivers the scalability and performance needed in an enterprise environment."
With the new bundled solution, users can easily connect their servers with storage devices through a SAN, creating an storage environment that is secure, reliable and scalable. "Consolidated storage pools can be created to maximise efficiency and minimise management complexity, while allowing storage to grow independently of servers - thus achieving substantial cost savings," says van Rensburg.
