Siltek Telecoms has launched an e-commerce arm of its Web site, called Thekiso. Meaning 'market' in Sotho, the facility is aimed at delivering value to the distributor's reseller channel.
Says Michael Aitken, MD of Siltek Telecoms, "Our e-commerce facility delivers more than a global trend; it is a means of giving our channel maximum control over their business."
Via the Thekiso site, VARs and their smaller counterparts will be able to check stock, order online, obtain quotes on Siltek Telecoms products, track delivery status and drill down to invoice and delivery note level.
"In other words," continues Aitken, "our channel will interact with us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The online facility gives our distribution network the equivalent of an expert member of staff devoted solely to each account."
The site also enables resellers to order on an "as-and-when-needed-basis", translating into improved delivery times, and effective cash flow. In addition, VARs ordering stock online can obtain a detailed explanation of products as well as images of the actual range. Siltek Telecoms will also regularly post any special offers or new products onto Thekiso, with the aim of keeping its resellers one step ahead of the competition.
Concludes Aitken, "The biggest benefit of Thekiso is that it gives the channel an insight into our business, and enables the resellers to plan theirs accordingly."
