Simplilearn debuts MS e-learning

Simplilearn.com, a global professional certification preparation portal with a blended learning approach, has introduced Microsoft Project 2007 and Microsoft Project 2010 e-learning courses, reports Forrest Lane Shul.

The company offers 100% online training to practicing project managers, who would like to hone their Microsoft Project skills. In the blended approach, in addition to the e-learning, participants also get to attend two full days of classroom training as well.

This e-learning course has 18 modules covering all aspects of using Microsoft Project for managing day-to-day project-related issues.

Programme boosts ICT competencies

ICT has been at the heart of economic change for more than a decade and the ICT sector plays an important role notably by contributing to rapid technological progress and productivity growth, states Bru Direct.

This was stated in a speech by the chief executive of the Authority of Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (Aiti), Hj Yahkup bin Hj Menudin at the debut of the Aiti ICT Competency Programme, at the iLM Academy, Knowledge Hub in Anggerek Desa.

The programme is part of a joint project between the Aiti and the iLM Academy, which aims to develop such ICT training into successful initiatives with job creating opportunities.

Massive response to ICT training

Close to 6 000 applications have been received by the Malta Communications Authority from people wishing to benefit from the recently introduced 'ICT4All' training scheme, says The Times of Malta.

The scheme entitles individuals aged 25 years and over to a EUR35 voucher that is redeemable against the ICT4All training course - an initiative intended to induce more adults to start using ICT for a better quality of life and to enhance employability.

According to Eurostat statistics, 91% of those aged 16 to 24 use the Internet regularly, as do 61% of those aged 25 to 54 and 22% of those aged 55 to 74.
