Singapore invests $36.6m in ICT

ZDNet Asia reports.

Lui Tuck Yew, Singapore's minister for transport and second minister for foreign affairs, says the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore and the National Productivity and Continuing Education Council have set aside $36.6 million to execute the strategy.

The programme will focus on three sub-segments: software development, systems integration and IT consultancy, which have had low productivity, according to Yew, Straits Times states.

The productivity roadmap aims to benefit more than 1 100 Singapore Infocomm companies, train 10 000 Infocomm professionals, and raise the value-add per worker from S$79 451 to S$105 434 over the next five years, Today Online says.

It seeks to help Infocomm companies acquire new capabilities and resources, build up specialised skills, and reach out to more markets.
