
Singapore offers grid computing
Businesses in Asia will soon be able to draw on commercial, pay-per-use grid computing services as part of a government-driven initiative to promote grid adoption, according to ZDnet.
Singapore's Infocomm Development Authority will activate on-demand access to computing power and software applications, as well as storage and archiving.
Apart from on-demand applications, such as customer relationship management, e-commerce, enterprise resource planning and business management, the partnership will also offer 2 400 cores and 16TB of storage.
EMC hosts Momentum
EMC, a global provider of information infrastructure solutions, plans to welcome nearly 1 500 attendees at Momentum Europe 2008, which will be held mid-November at the Prague Congress Centre, says Al Bawaba.
Momentum Europe 2008 is the market's largest gathering of customers, partners and industry experts in enterprise content management (ECM) and archiving outside of the US.
Attendees will discuss and learn about market-leading innovations in the many facets of ECM, such as transactional content management, compliance and archiving, business process management, records management, interactive content management and customer communications management.
Azuki extends content management
Azuki Systems, a provider of mobile media technology, is working with The Platform, a video management company, to extend desktop content management to mobile devices, and enable the rapid and seamless socialisation of rich mobile media, states Market Watch.
Boston TV, an online video entertainment network, is leveraging Azuki's MashMedia and The Platform's Media Publishing System to build a mobile community around Boston's events, entertainment, sports, music, restaurants, arts and parties.
Through its relationship with Azuki and The Platform, Boston TV can automate the process of optimising its desktop videos and media content for mobile devices.
