Singapore`s Institute of Technical Education improves services, cuts costs with CA`s Unicenter

Computer Associates International, Inc (CA) today announced that Singapore`s Institute of Technical Education (ITE) has implemented CA`s acclaimed Unicenter solution to centralise management of its critical computing infrastructure.

By more efficiently and effectively managing servers and other resources from ITE`s headquarters, the company has significantly reduced its technology management costs while optimising the availability and performance of vital network services.

ITE is using CA`s Unicenter Network and Systems Management to centrally monitor its network infrastructure and servers, including Windows and Solaris platforms, at its 10 campus locations. This centralised approach enables ITE`s most skilled systems experts to proactively maintain and troubleshoot its critical systems without having to travel from campus-to-campus - thereby improving their productivity, accelerating remedial actions and minimising outages.

ITE`s technical staff members have further improved their productivity and streamlined troubleshooting processes with Unicenter ServicePlus Service Desk, which provides an intelligent, automated solution for managing alerts, tracking event statuses and ensuring rapid problem resolution. Additional Unicenter solutions have enabled technical staff to troubleshoot desktop problems, provide training, track equipment and configurations, manage software licences and distribute software and software patches with ease - all from a centralised management office. These combined capabilities have brought ITE`s technical operations to an unprecedented level of efficiency and accuracy.
