Hewlett-Packard (HP) has launched a business protection initiative in response to increasing needs for high‑volume data storage.
"Data protection is one of the most important issues facing organisations today," says Vic Brits, HP storage business unit manager.
"To ensure continuity of your data in the event of any threat, it`s vital to have an appropriate data protection strategy in place."
Brits points out that in addition to maintaining data availability and minimising data corruption and loss, IT managers must also ensure continuous access to business applications.
"Although today`s storage technologies offer many different choices for data protection, it is important to understand that these technologies are not standalone," emphasises Brits. "The greatest level of data protection may come from a combination of many different technologies working as one."
Based on this principle, HP has developed what it`s calling an ultimate business protection solution that focuses on storage area network, network-attached storage, and a combination of technologies, tailored to each organisation`s requirements.
"To complement the technology solution," say Brits, "HP also offers a full range of professional services such as data availability, technology deployment and performance."
