Sisonke adds weight to Attix5 reseller channel

Johannesburg, 18 Aug 2005

Remote backup and retrieval specialist, Attix5, has appointed black empowered IT hardware and services provider, Sisonke Global Systems, as a reseller of the powerful Attix5 Backup Professional suite of products.

Flip Smit, MD of Attix5, believes the appointment of Sisonke will add impetus to his company`s current drive into the public sector. "Sisonke`s biggest strength is that it has well established empowerment credentials and its focus on the desktop, as opposed to the server, will strengthen our position in this environment," he says.

According to Ilze Pieterse, director at Sisonke, as a value-added reseller, the company`s primary goal is to partner with its customers and offer solutions that solve their problems.

"One of the recurring problems we encounter across the board relates to the loss of data," she says. "With company data increasing at the rate it does daily and the spate of new legislation pertaining to its retention, preservation and maintenance, it is vital that our solutions address these issues. We researched the market and found that the Attix5 solution set offers the most functionality and is certainly the best value proposition available."

Sisonke is introducing Attix5 Backup Professional to companies in its existing client base where it has identified an urgent need for business continuity. Pieterse confirms that her company has already carried out a major implementation at a high profile government department and is implementing the solution on a national basis for another government department (1 600 desktops).

"Our focus is on the larger enterprise and, so far, we have not approached a single corporation where they have not requested a proposal - the name Attix5 is very well respected out there," she says. "The process is a little longer in the public arena as there are normally several role players involved in the decision-making process.

"However, network administrators at government institutions are under huge pressure to support the data demands of hundreds of users and we believe the centralised management and automation capabilities of Attix5 will provide significant benefits in these environments."

Concludes Attix5`s Smit: "We envisage a lengthy and growing relationship with Sisonke. The company`s proven track record in terms of delivery and its strong implementation and consulting skills are certain to play an important role in increasing the profile and market share of our product."
