SK Telecom, Lenovo team up
SK Telecom has signed a memorandum of understanding with Lenovo to strengthen its competitiveness in the global content distribution market, reports Korea IT Times.
As part of the agreement, SK Telecom will enable developers to easily develop applications optimised for Lenovo's handsets and allow developers to test Lenovo's target handsets at its test centre, the companies say.
The company's future plans also include developing a system that enables developers to create applications in different languages.
UK university seeks system support
The University of Stirling in Scotland is set to tender for the support management of its Web site content as it aims to maximise revenue income, states The Drum.
A tender will be held to appoint a supplier to support the university's Web content management systems, which will see the institute integrate the solution with its existing Microsoft and Active Directory environment.
The project will begin in the first quarter of next year with the contract running until April 2014.
Open Text strengthens Oracle alliance
Open Text has broadened its partnership with Oracle, hoping to widen its customer base for information governance offerings by targeting organisations using Oracle technologies, says IT World Canada.
Open Text has obtained a technology and distribution licence for Oracle's Universal Online Archive Content Management SDK, allowing it to embed Oracle technology in Open Text products.
“The goal is not for the Oracle partnership to replace what Open Text already has; instead, it's for the Oracle customer to be able to play well with Open Text offerings,” says Lubor Ptacek, Open Text vice-president of product marketing.
