Small firms fail to protect data

New research has found that half of Britain`s small businesses have put themselves at by not backing up their electronic files, reports OneStopClick.

Unicom says that 55% of small businesses did not have a plan to back-up their , which meant they could potentially lose everything through errors, break-ins or software failures.

Unicom`s operations director Chris Earle says: "It is quite hair-raising to think that 55% of the businesses we surveyed said they did not back-up their in any way."

RecoverGuard 2.0 released

Continuity Software has released the newest version of its RecoverGuard disaster recovery testing and monitoring software, reports WebsiteHostDirectory.

RecoverGuard version 2.0 features significant enhancements to its configuration wizard, dashboard, reporting infrastructure and gap detection engine.

The software will enable customers to identify and correct disaster recovery threats, faster and more easily than before.

Sunbelt introduces archiving solution

Sunbelt Software has released Sunbelt Exchange Archiver (SEA), a new e-mail archiving solution for Microsoft Exchange environments, reports WWPI.

SEA delivers enterprise-class e-mail archiving for all organisations, providing administrators with features such as integrated hierarchical storage management, direct archiving, full e-mail continuity and disaster recovery, and seamless Microsoft Exchange, Outlook and Outlook Web Access integration.

SEA will be able to give organisations an e-mail life cycle management system that offers tamper-proof, long-term storage of e-mails with easy retrieval capabilities and full-text searching, Sunbelt says.
