The 9.7-inch iPad Pro tablet is available to South African consumers from iStores nationwide as well as online, according to local authorised Apple distributor Core Group.
Apple released the product last month with the iPhone SE. The 9.7-inch iPad Pro is a smaller version of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro released last year.
The device comes with the full set of Microsoft Office Apps: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote.
It also has four-speaker audio, advanced iSight and FaceTime HD cameras, Touch ID fingerprint sensor, ultra-fast WiFi, and 4G LTE Advanced connectivity. The device can shoot video in 4K. The company claims it has up to 10 hours of battery life.
The Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard are available as separate accessories.
The device is available in rose gold, silver, gold and space grey.

Last year, the International Data Corporation reported one in five tablet devices sold in the fourth quarter of 2015 were detachable.
A total of 2.6 million tablets with a detachable keyboard were shipped ? up from just over 800 000 units a year ago, accounting now for almost 20% of the overall tablet market, said the research firm.
