Smartcom, one of South Africa's leading cellular service providers, is pleased to announce that it has added a new functionality to its electronic billing service - Smartcom E-mail Billing - that was launched in March 2002. The new enhancement provides clients with an advanced sorting function.
Says Nick Zografos, chief executive officer, Smartcom; "Following our trial period in March, we received positive feedback from our clients which allowed us to iron out any initial teething problems as well as to develop additional functionalities which will further enhance the product."
"From hereon, all itemised E-mail bills sent out to clients will include an advanced sorting operation. By clicking on the identified icon on the statement or invoice, clients will be able to export their itemised bill into an Excel spreadsheet application. By doing so, clients will be able to perform complex data calculations and sort their statement or invoice according to dialled numbers and received calls - thereby adding a new dimension to itemised billing."
Smartcom is one of the few South African cellular service providers to offer its clients the option of receiving itemised statements and invoices electronically. Other service providers either offer the option to view statements via the Internet or pay invoices electronically. No other local cellular service providers, however, have been able to offer clients the opportunity to receive electronic invoices and statements. To address the diverse range of its client base, Smartcom will continue to provide their clients with the choice of receiving their monthly billing via the postal system, via e-mail, or both.
"As part of Smartcom's strategy to provide clients with specialised products, E-billing, as all our products, will continue to evolve as our clients' needs and call patterns change," concludes Zografas.
