Smart Storage Technologies (SmartStor), the specialist data storage solutions company within the MB Technologies Group of companies, has announced a new division focused on the provision of a range of expert IT consulting services to clients.
According to Vaughan Beattie, strategic business development manager at SmartStor, the Professional Services team is committed to the provision of practical, cost-effective solutions that help IT executives and managers address the operational, strategic and tactical challenges faced with constant technological change.
"SmartStor's focus on open systems storage, strong partnerships and skills made the formulation of a full, comprehensive service offering a logical next step," he explains.
"The bottom line is that we want to help our customers to save money. We can do this by examining an organisation's current inventory of storage resources through either a storage audit or capacity planning exercise," continues Beattie. "This type of study helps companies identify whether their current storage infrastructure is sufficiently meeting their needs and, if not, what can be done to build a solid foundation for an storage management strategy."
The range of services provided by the SmartStor Professional Services division include: the Storage Resource Assessment Programme, providing a "snapshot" of a firm's existing data storage infrastructure and resources; Storage Management Best Practices, the implementation of "best practices" procedures to create a storage environment that provides the highest possible returns; and Storage Resource Health Check, an independent site audit that measures and evaluates key areas throughout the storage environment and ensures that storage resources are maintained at optimal levels.
"With a skills base composed of years of cumulative IT experience, we believe that the delivery of consulting services should not teach the theory, but should also provide measurable practical benefit through the transfer of knowledge and skills on an ongoing basis," he concludes.
