Snap-Tech has already run its first PRINCE2 course against the new 2009 version available in the southern hemisphere - released worldwide on 16 June 2009.
Exams against the new version's syllabus have been available since early July.
Since its launch in 1996, PRINCE2 has gone through two major revisions, in 2002 and 2005. The original version remained largely unchanged, with updates being mostly comprised of corrections to the manual and a few incremental improvements in methodology.
However, the swiftness of change in today's project management environment and increasingly complex levels of communication, mean that projects now face challenges that didn't exist when PRINCE2 was introduced in 1996.
Consequently, the Office of Government Commerce invited widespread consultation and drawn upon real-life experiences in both public and private sector organisations to update and refresh PRINCE2 in a manner that makes its approach more user-friendly and straightforward.
Widely considered the leading methodology in project management around the world, PRINCE2 has been implemented in more than 20 000 organisations, throughout 150 countries.
Today, PRINCE2 provides more value than ever to organisations that wish to adopt it as a best practice standard.
