E-mail archive migration specialist TransVault Software (TVS) recently announced direct, API support for the new personal archive service introduced with Microsoft Exchange 2010.
Soarsoft Africa, a specialist in archive, migration and messaging services and distributor of TransVault Software, is now delivering this capability to the South Africa market and coupling it with its extensive expertise in this niche area.
Among the first developers to support ingestion to the new online archive using the Microsoft Exchange Web Services (EWS) protocol, TVS is heralding the switchover. Its flagship product, TransVault, has already been used by leading organisations to make the move back to Exchange 2010.
According to TVS managing director, Barney Haye: "Although Exchange 2010 doesn't offer the storage savings or advanced discovery capabilities provided by many third party archive systems, those with more basic e-mail management needs are keen to get more out of their investment in Exchange and eliminate the costs of maintaining a separate archive."
With support for all of the commonly used Exchange archive vendor platforms, as well as an advanced migration service for .PST files, TransVault moves legacy e-mail records quickly and securely into Exchange, while preserving the integrity and accessibility of data. This includes the ability to clean up shortcuts in users' inboxes.
Says George Amoils, director at Soarsoft Africa: "We are seeing a steady increase in the requirement to migrate to Microsoft Exchange 2010 in the local market, and TransVault is simplifying the transition from third party archive software back to an Exchange environment and other alternate archive solutions. The benefits include a significant reduction in time and costs to migrate and eliminate many of the challenges that go hand-in-hand with this type of migration. This will change the game for customers who have assumed that they are vendor locked by the cost and complexity of 'exiting' legacy archive solutions."
TransVault is available as part of end-to-end migration services that are delivered by over 50 TVS partners worldwide.
