Softline Enterprise appoints East African reseller for Sage Line 500

Johannesburg, 16 Aug 2005

Softline Enterprise, leading supplier of enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions, has appointed International Infotech Systems to service the East African region covering Tanzania, Uganda, Congo, Zambia, Rwanda, Libya, Nigeria and Ghana.

This appointment follows an increased interest in Sage Line 500 solutions and services across the region. Kenyan-based International Infotech Systems will provide a broad range of services including ERP solutions, software development, customised software packages, consulting as well as data and voice-based solutions within the financial services, government, manufacturing and education sectors.

"We believe in appointing local resellers who have the skills and knowledge to provide local Sage Line 500 solutions," says Ashley Ellington, director Africa: Softline Enterprise.

"The support from International Infotech Systems in East Africa will include advice on local legislative issues, assistance with correct implementation procedures or processes, as well as more general technical product support. Local East African customers will also benefit from being part of a global group in which technological advances as well as customer service and marketing expertise can be effectively shared."

International Infotech Systems operates as a joint venture between Almoayed Group, Bahrain as well as the I & M Group in Kenya. "A year ago Almoayed Group was appointed as the Sage distributor for middle east countries such as Bahrain, UAE and Qatar. When we started the business in Kenya we saw huge potential for software deployment, especially with ERP in East Africa. At this stage we approached Softline Enterprise as we saw the growth they were experiencing with their Sage Line 500 products in the African market," says Subramaniam Narayan, country manager East Africa, International Infotech Systems.

"Sage Line 500 is a product that will fit well into East African countries such as Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Customers look for products that are reliable, user-friendly and easy to deploy and is for these reasons that we believe Sage Line 500 will adapt well in East African organisations. If customers require an ERP solution with a low budget or seek to avoid big, recurring expenses, pitching in and selling Sage Line 500 will become an even easier task," says Subramaniam.

International Infotech Systems says its core focus is to grow the local business alongside Sage Line 500, providing software-based solutions to customers in the East African region. "It is indeed a big feather in our cap to be partnered with Softline Enterprise. From a software perspective this partnership is very important to us; we look forward to a prosperous relationship with Softline Enterprise, providing the correct reach in East Africa," concludes Subramaniam.

Softline Enterprise is a division of Softline, a member of the FTSE 100 Sage Group.
