Software AG, along with strategic partner Fujitsu, has been given an Editors' Choice Award from Intelligent Enterprise magazine in the category, "Companies to Watch in Business Process Management". The award was announced in the May 2006 issue of Intelligent Enterprise.
According to the magazine's editors, "These partners have pooled their SOA, ESB and BPM products and expertise, and combined worldwide footprint and scale make them a global force in BPM."
The two companies jointly developed CentraSite, an open SOA registry and repository, as well as combining their enterprise service bus and business process management products and expertise. CentraSite acts as a Web services and SOA asset management platform, holding all metadata assets, and offering reports on usage. As the central "SOA Store" for the enterprise, CentraSite offers greater visibility and control of information, supports better decision-making, and increases productivity. It is the hub of crossvision, a comprehensive and innovative approach to synchronising business with IT that brings together BPM and SOA.
Crossvision was launched in South Africa earlier this year. It drives a process-centric approach to SOA by incorporating powerful business process management that enables new business processes - from modelling through automation and management to process optimisation. The crossvision SOA suite allows enterprises to rapidly and cost-effectively leverage existing assets and create new business processes.
Commenting on the award, Software AG (South Africa) director, Devon Dalbock, says: "The Editors' Choice Award from Intelligent Enterprise gives significant recognition to the power of combining SOA and BPM, which is the future of enterprise architecture design. The award also recognises that full services-oriented architecture management and governance can only be delivered through an open alliance culture."
