Software AG today announced that it has been named a "Leader" among eight enterprise service bus (ESB) vendors in a recent Forrester Research report, "The Forrester Wave: Enterprise Service Bus, Q2 2006, Forrester Research Inc, 30 June 2006".
The report cites crossvision Service Orchestrator's bundled CentraSite SOA registry/repository, as well as strong capabilities for mainframe integration, as primary reasons for placing Software AG in the Leader position.
According to the report's Vendor Summary, Software AG "scored well in both the strategy and product offering categories, providing exceptional strength in registry/repository. A service repository can be very helpful for service-oriented architecture (SOA) governance." (Forrester Research, "Software AG Makes a Strong Initial Showing in ESBs," 30 June 2006.)
The Vendor Summary states that "Software AG is best when registry is the paramount requirement". Forrester describes Software AG as a "particularly good choice" for buyers that:
* Are looking for an ESB with registry/repository features now.
* Are shops with a focus on SAP applications.
The report gives Software AG a perfect five out of five scores for corporate strategy, financial viability and solution cost.
"We are very pleased that Forrester Research has recognised Software AG as an enterprise service bus leader," said Dr Peter Kuerpick, member of the board, Software AG and responsible for the development of crossvision.
"Both crossvision Service Orchestrator and the CentraSite registry/repository are part of Software AG's new crossvision SOA suite, providing companies with a unique, standards-based approach to building, managing and governing their service-oriented architecture - whether for a single key project or as an entire organisational initiative."
