High on their wishlist were better tools for debugging multi-core processors and supporting virtual I/O.
Technical managers from Cisco Systems, Hewlett-Packard's networking division, Juniper Networks and gateway maker Stoke all ranked software support as their chief concern when picking a multi-core processor.
Fibre networks are the future
Fibre-based networks are the future of the telecommunication industry which is currently undergoing a network transformation triggered by spurring introduction of new services and operators' plans for growth, writes Zawya.
This forecast came out during the third annual FTTX Megna two-day conference held in Dubai this week.

Firm signs to support 3G
Loxley is preparing to sign a joint-venture deal with Mobile Partners Group of the UK to develop a complete range of services to support the provision of 3G services on behalf of TOT, according to Bangkok Post.
The company wants to become a full mobile virtual network operator in anticipation of greater opportunities now that the cabinet has approved the state telecom enterprise's plan to create a nationwide 3G network.
Loxley says it will offer fully integrated services from marketing, management, billing and after-sales services to customer relationship management.
