SolarFocus Technology will unveil a solar-powered e-reader cover at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), a world first, according to the company.
The manufacturer says the SolarKindle Lighted Cover is the first in a line of solar-powered gadgets under the SolarFocus label.
The SolarKindle Lighted Cover features a solar panel and a dual-charging (USB or solar) reserve battery, according to SolarFocus. The company adds that the cover guarantees three months' of unplugged use under normal sunlight conditions. Other features include a built-in LED reading lamp and leather casing.
According to SolarFocus, the SolarKindle was a 2012 International CES Innovations Design & Engineering Awards Honoree.
SolarFocus says the SolarKindle Lighted Cover will be displayed at the 2012 International CES, which runs from 10 to 13 January, in Las Vegas.
