SolarWinds solidifies virtualisation tools
Besides updating Hyper9, SolarWinds is rebranding the product as SolarWinds Virtualisation Manager to be more in line with the rest of its product suite. The company acquired Hyper9 and its company in January.
Virtualisation Manager provides a centralised environment for managing the capacity planning, configuration and performance of a virtualised infrastructure.
New features include the ability to recommend best practices as problems are discovered, as well as what the company calls Time-Travel, which acts like a performance monitor that can be used to identify and troubleshoot problems based on historical data.
According Virtualisation Online Community, in a recent survey conducted by SolarWinds, the majority of respondents said performance and availability monitoring were their main concerns for virtualisation.
“Based on our customer's feedback coupled with virtualisation's adoption momentum and its now well-known challenges, we believe that the market is ready for a SolarWinds management offering that's affordable, easy to use and enables customers to build and manage a cloud strategy,” says Kevin Thompson, president and CEO of SolarWinds, in a statement.
